Terah has spent many years playing piano and flute for church services and other events, and singing in various college ensembles, including operas, the Clayton State Chorale, and Chamber Choir. Since completing her bachelor’s degree in music composition in 2002, Terah has taught both piano and voice lessons, and has led worship in several churches. Brianna (Bri) McGeehan
Voice, Piano, Guitar
Brianna McGeehan was born into a musical family and began studying and playing music at age 5. The daughter of a music teacher/musician and composer, music was just a part of everyday life. After a childhood spent studying classical violin, piano, voice, and musical theater, Brianna spent a gap year through New College of California studying music in both India and Tanzania. Coming from a western traditional musical background, she relished this new musical understanding.
She then attended Naropa University in Boulder Colorado seeking a BFA in performance. At Naropa her musical understanding was once again broadened while studying voice science, voice movement therapy and Feldenkrais. She also studied Jazz and gospel piano, breaking away from her traditional music background and gaining new understanding. When a sudden turn of events led to the dissolution of the BFA program she was in, she moved to Brooklyn New York where she began writing songs and playing guitar.
After some years focused on writing and performing she decided to head back to school and study Music Therapy at Marylhurst University in Lake Oswego Oregon. At this time she also began teaching out of her Dad's music studio and then her own studio in Portland Oregon. In the end she received an interdisciplinary degree with a focus in music as she had switched gears to performing and teaching music.
Music therapy training truly shaped who Brianna is as a teacher. Brianna teaches Voice, Piano, guitar and songwriting. Sharing the joy of music is one of her greatest passions.
