About This Camp
Ages: 7-12 | Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Ready to turn up the volume and rock out on a stage? Rock 101 Boot Camp is the ultimate music experience for young musicians looking to level up their skills! Designed for begining to intermediate players, this camp covers everything from fundamental techniques to stage performance skills.
What Campers Will Learn:
🎵 Play classic and current rock songs - jam with a real band
🎸 Develop rhythm, chords, and basic lead techniques
🎤 Learn stage presence and performance confidence
🥁 Explore different instruments and styles
🎶 Participate in fun group rehearsals and activities
Led by our amazing instructor Jack Gordy (guitarist), students will explore their instruments through song learning, rehearsal tips, stage presence, and activities.
We will be at a fun, family friendly venue for the week…one of the private event rooms at Line Creek Bus Barn at 300 City Center Pkwy in Fayetteville.
This camp week is a great way to enhance your performance skills or discover your inner rock star! Students will work on songs Monday through Friday and the camp will finish on stage with a performance at the end of the week for family and friends.
Schedule
Session 1: June 23 - June 27 and Session 2: July 28 - August 1
Camp days are Monday - Friday from 10am - 2pm each day, with a Friday performance at 2pm.
Drop-off will be at 9:45am each day
Pick up will be no later than 2:15pm Monday - Thursday
Each day will consist of rehearsals, practice time, and fun music-based activities, and a live performance Friday!
Friday Performance
On Friday, campers will put on a show for family and friends and perform the song(s) they’ve been working on all week. More details will be provided on the first day of the camp!
What To Bring
Not necessary, but if you want to provide hearing protection, simple foam earplugs, or over-the-head headphone-style protection works!
Campers will have a lunch break each day. Line Creek Bus Barn has food vendors (pizza, BBQ) available on Wed, Thurs, Fri should you choose to send money to purchase lunch. On Monday and Tuesday (and other days, if not purchasing) campers should bring a packed lunch clearly marked with their name.
All campers should bring a notebook or folder with paper, and a writing utensil.
In terms of equipment, campers should bring the following depending on their instrument:
Guitarists: Guitar, guitar strap, picks, and tuner. Please let us know if your instrument is not electric (acoustic).Bassists: Bass, strap and tuner. Please let us know if your instrument is not electric (acoustic) .
Drummers: Drumsticks
Keyboardists: No equipment required
Vocalists: No equipment required
Please let us know ahead of time if your student needs an instrument…arrangements for a rental through us can be discussed. Please note that campers may rotate through and play different instruments throughout the camp depending on the needs of the band.
Cancellation Policy
Enrollments that are canceled up to 7 days prior to the start of the camp can receive a full refund of an account credit to be used for any The Music Garden enrollment or a refund back to the card used minus a $50 cancellation fee.
Enrollments canceled within 24 hours of the start of the camp can receive a full refund of an account credit to be used for any The Music Garden enrollment or a 50% refund back to the card used.
Camps that are canceled by The Music Garden prior to the start date will receive a full refund.
