What to Expect

Discover a fun and engaging class designed exclusively for adults 55+ that blends rhythmic exploration with gentle movement and community connection. In each interactive session you will explore various rhythm instruments including the cajon (box drum), egg shakers, maracas, and more while enjoying gentle stretches and movement exercises tailored to improve mobility, relaxation, and cognitive function. This class and classroom are fully handicap accessible and students do not need to sit on the box drum to participate.

About The Class

Location: Classroom 1, This classroom is handicap accessible

Schedule: Fridays 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM

Meet Our Teacher

James McDaniel is a Music Educator and Percussionist with extensive experience in drum corps, concert ensembles, and jazz groups. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Jacksonville State University, where he performed in advanced ensembles and served as Snare Section Leader for the Marching Southerners. James has taught percussion since high school, contributing to nationally ranked programs like Carrollton High School’s indoor drumline. He is currently the Director of Percussion at East Paulding High School.
