What to Expect

We believe in vocal exploration as a means of self-discovery. In voice lessons, the student will learn vocal production through the anatomy of the voice - how humans make sound. Vocal control and maintenance is vital to the well-being of the singer. Therefore, we are dedicated to classical training at all levels. Students will develop proper warm-up skills and effective performance posture through confidence-building strategies each week. Younger singers begin studying age-appropriate materials including folk music and show tunes. As the singer progresses, classical repertoire is introduced.

About Private Lessons

Performances are the culmination of mastery in styles studied throughout the semester. Let's work together to find the singer in you! Students are given the opportunity to perform solos at The Music Garden recitals, held in December and May.

Practice is mandatory for private lessons. Please consult your instructor about the appropriate practice schedule for the voice student.

The students are invited to participate in two recitals each year: winter (late November or early December) and spring, (late April or early May). There is a recital fee of $25 due in November and April.
